Welcome to the Botany Major!
A Botany degree from the University of Florida will provide a broad background in biodiversity and plant biology. This breadth of training is what sets a botany degree apart from the applied plant sciences. At UF, we have an exceptional range of faculty who teach and do research in plant-related topics. Our teaching and research are supported by excellent facilities, including the Botany greenhouses, the University of Florida herbarium, the Florida Museum of Natural History, an Ethnoecology Garden, and Paleobotanical collections.
We hope you will explore this site to learn more about careers in botany and the plant sciences, exciting plant courses you can take at UF, and how to get involved with the campus botany club, G.R.O.W. Botany!
